Four tracks across the cause way to Venice, train frequeny probably more than 5min, and they are long. Both local and from Austria and Slovenia at least.

Venice itself only has water transport on island, but its not cheap starting at 7 € for a one way trip.

They are building another line of the guided road tram already in use on mainland for one line along the causeway from island to city on mainland. Basically it looks like a normal multisegment long modern tram running on tyres using a single central guideway rail that also provides power along with pano.
.
This is probably a suitable upgrade technology for Brisbanes SE busway over light rail as the works required is much cheaper and faster and works well with buses.
