It's a pity Coochiemudlo & NSI + Stradbroke buses coudn't be part of the GO card network, even if not within TransLink fare zones (similar to the way AirTrain works).

Too much cost involved with little return.  That's why they had to put on an additional rate to help pay for BITS, with the higher cost to benefit ratio with paying for the ferries to operate, including maintenance for the jetties, for a tiny population.

I think it's unlikely you'll ever see Stradbroke and Coochie under TransLink, the SMBI got through mainly due to the population being more stable and higher than those two locations, Coochiemudlo and Stradbroke has a much higher transient population with a tiny permanent population, compared with SMBI.

Set in train

Sibelco really should partner with the local and state govts to shift at least the NSI passenger ferry to Translink ticketing.

They are ripoff prices at present. NSI is the largest wasted opportunity in SE Qld due to the lack and cost of access.

I'm not saying the fares should change at all.  I'd just like the ability to be able to pay them with a GO card.  AirTrain isn't a TransLink service, yet I can pay for that with GO card.

I believe GO card can also be used for CityCycle (not that I've ever used it as I don't venture into the CBD much) which once again isn't a TransLink service.

It would be good if GO card stored value could be used other places too IMO.  Small stores like newsagents, 7-11s, maybe even Taxis?

Absolutely yes!  I'd love it to be more like my beloved HK octopus card.
