The Kilcoy District Historical Society Inc  is planning a community celebration in Yowie Park Kilcoy on 30 November 2013 to commemorate the opening of the Woodford to Kilcoy railway line in 1913. The line has been closed since 1964, however there are a lot of wonderful memories of our rail past and in fact our Historical Society's Hall of History stands where the railway station was situated, adjacent to 2 other historic buildings in our picturesque Yowie Park in Hope Street Kilcoy.

This email is to notify you all of the Railway 100 year celebration we are having.  The activities and entertainment will start from 9AM that day on the original station site. It is also Kilcoy Markets day and the community's End of Spring Festival day in the Park so there will be plenty to see. Come and look us up.

If anyone has any memorabilia, memoirs or photographs or enquiries could they please contact the Kilcoy District Historical Society (Carmel Rohl – regit1950@westnet.com.au).

Please feel free to pass onto any Kilcoyites or Railway interested people.

The platform is crowded with people waiting to welcome the first train from Woodford on the opening day of the Woodford to Kilcoy railway line. The train is decorated with bunting and flags and people are leaning out of the windows of the carriages.
