Hello,

Have been flying between Brisbane and Melbourne over the past month. Almost every.single.flight has been delayed arriving into Brisbane. Last night I was hit with $60+ cab fare because my flight was put into a 30 minute holding pattern over the Gold Coast. The plane flew in circles along with two other planes just to waste time (and fuel). At the end of it all I missed the last train out of the airport and there was a pretty full queue for taxis.

This lateness has affected almost all my flights (and those of other carriers) regardless of time of day. It would be great to have trains run later but even better if the planes were actually on time. Part of me wonders if Brisbane Airport is doing this on purpose to build support for the new runway, but then I'm not even sure that the do air traffic control - part of me thinks that's done by the gov't.

Send a letter of claim for fare reimbursement.  No harm in trying ...

LOL. I thought I was still on a BT bus last night. Great Circle Line...

BT must be doing the air traffic handling  :-r

There are so many things wrong and backwards with this city. I saw in the paper that late night trading might FINALLY arrive. Gee whiz, what's next? indoor toilets?!?!

Don't get me started about the last time I caught a Qantas flight from Melbourne to Brisbane..
Board at MLB @ 3pm.
Arrive BNE @ 7:45pm.
Miss last Airtrain @ 8pm ( before the extra night trains were added )
Cab to Toombul Rail $31.00 then trains to Cleveland.
:pr

Should have booked on the 4 or 5pm plane. Would have arrived at BNE earlier.. ( This was the same week Tiger Airways was shut down so no spare seats on following flights )

I am generally able to fly in and out of BNE at off peak times.  I find this helps a little with OTP and I also avoid flights through Sydney as well when travelling to Victoria etc.

BNE as with most things transport in SEQ is a basket case ...  the only saving grace is the rail line ...

^^ Same here, only problem - too early there is no Train!  Even at peak time - I've been lucky enough to never have a problem.

I haven't had issues, but then again we are coming from Dubai or Hong Kong usually and I suppose ATC doesn't want to F---k with planes running on the bottom end of the fuel capacity and design range.

Is the case, saw this in a NOTAM (notice to airmen) when trying to find out about the old F1-11 riverfire practice runs.

Where did you take a taxi to for it to be $60?

It's only $30 to Eagle Junction isn't it?

I've been fairly lucky with the airlines coming in and out of Brisbane over the past 12 months.

Only have been running late once coming into Brisbane (was a Virgin flight from Sydney), and ran late once with Qantas (it took nearly 30mins to reach the runway from the gate! On a trip to Melbourne).

I generally book the flights at the times when the trains are running to be on the safe side, even if I have to pay a bit more for the middle of the day flights.

Also amazingly I have never been late on a Jetstar flight!  Been smack bang on time every time over the past two years of me using them (I've since switched to Qantas to save the hassle of having to pay extra for baggage, although I would use Jetstar if I was doing a day only flight interstate and therefore had no need to take baggage).
