Routes 330, P331, P341 now via Airport Link

Last updated: 12.32pm Thursday 24 January 2013

From Tuesday 29 January, routes 330 (Bracken Ridge to City), P331 (Bracken Ridge to City) and P341 (Carseldine to City) will be re-routed to travel via Airport Link (between RBWH station and Chermside).

When travelling on routes 330, P331 and P341 outbound, your journey from RBWH station to Chermside will be up to six minutes faster, depending on the time of day you travel.

As a result of this time saving, there will be changes to timetables outbound from Chermside only. There will no changes to inbound service timetables at this stage.

No bus stop changes will be made as a result of the service improvement.

Be sure to check your new timetable online before you travel.

It would be interesting to see how it gets onto Lutwyche road during peak hour in the first place. That place is a nightmare to merge onto from the Hospital.

Didn't they try that at first and think it wasn't a good idea?  What has changed?

HappyTrainGuy

Might have been support for it to stop along the northern busway... Which it should be doing out of peak.

somebody

The 330?  I'd disagree that should stop between Chermside and RBH (except possibly Windsor for connections).  Other routes are peak only.

HappyTrainGuy

The only reason why I'd like to see it use the busway out of peak is due to the low patronage when compared to the 333 for example. It's a mute point now anyway.

I do hope the Government is not paying "Airport Sink" any money for using that road.

No it was planned but never put into practice.

The exit from the AirportLink off-ramp at Kedron was deemed unsafe and closed off, just like the off-ramp onto Lutwyche Rd after Truro St.  I dare say it will stay the same and continue across the flyover with general traffic.

For O/B, My guess is that it will exit onto Ernie's roundabout after RBWH, left onto Butterfield St and onto AirportLink on ramp (fairly easy).

As for I/B, Unless there is a way to utilise that little access to the Busway from just after the Federation St stop(impossible without signals), then yes it's going to be a nightmare getting a right turn into Butterfield St.

QLDitis strikes again.

Deemed unsafe by who?

If the answer is "the RTBU", I just give up...

Use the Airport Link exit to Lutwyche Rd that pops up in the middle of Lutwyche rd (forms new RH lane), turn right into Butterfield St and right to the busway.

Their beef was with that pedestrian crossing at Truro St.

I'm not sure who made the call about those off-ramps - It could have been TMR, Busway Operations (While they were still part of TransLink) or BCC.

Agree, as per their over reaction with safety demands of depot staff (the trainers or OH&S from memory) holding their hands for one to two weeks after the busway opened. Unlike any other section of busway that has been opened.

This is long overdue, there is no need for the 330 or 340 to stop between Chermside and the RBH, that's what the 333 is for and should remain that way.

340 already stops along the busway ;)

That's my point, express as it was to Chermside made for better travelling.

HappyTrainGuy

I don't agree that the 340 should be express. It stuggles to get large numbers at 11am compared to the 330 which is express. 333 has bigger numbers leaving Chermside than the 340 does when it goes past. As far as I'm concered the 340 shouldn't even be going to the City with pumping services into other feeders and additional 333s.
