Not a bridge strike or a level crossing incident but still a ??????

This morning at approximately 0400hrs Sunday 30 December 2012, I took bella the berlina out for an early morning drive to take a mate to a balloon flight leaving from Limestone Park Ipswich at 0430hrs.

What do I see at the roundabout at Oxley station road and Cook Street, just outside of the Oxley railway station... a big, very big B Double Pantec.. fully loaded trying to negotiate it's way up Oxley Station Road and left onto Seventeen mile rocks road... the laws of physics actually intervene here and it can't be done, the vehicular bridge across the railway line and the two road access points across the railway line are way too narrow and not appropriately aligned to allow for such large vehicles.

The professional truck driver in charge had at least, by the way he was stuck half way up the hill and straddled across the roundabout with the rear trailer stuck back on Oxley station road, become aware of these laws and had begun a long and potentially dangerous reverse/go forward/reverse/go forward all the way back down Oxley Station Road.

I did think about calling the Police and decided not too unless he was still there when I returned 50 or so minutes later.

Thus upon my return and at the Oxley Road/Ipswich Road roundabout, did see a very similar large B double turning right from Oxley road back onto Ipswich road and I suspect all was resolved, given there was no stuck truck on my return journey....

B doubles are restricted to certain road routes, that is not one of them ...  did you get a happy snap by chance?

They just don't care, will be worse with B triples ...
Half baked projects, have long term consequences ...

Nah no happy snap unfortunately - I was on mission to get to the drop off zone in Ipswich before the balloon took off and it was still dark so I suppose any digital pic would have been a bit poor.
