A BUS struck a boom at the Stanley St level crossing in Coorparoo this morning - causing train delays on the Cleveland line and serious traffic problems.

A Queensland Rails spokesman said five in-bound services had been delayed up to 10 minutes because of the incident.

However one passenger, who called The Courier Mail, said station staff had informed rail travellers waiting on platforms there were 30 minute delays.

Police attended the accident to control the situation as the traffic lights were stuck on one colour.

Get rid of all level crossings!  Some of them are shocking!
