I can't distinguish between the Assistant Minister and TMR Minister.

I think the bus review has potential, but only if they are willing to overrule their BCC mates.  It has no merit otherwise.  So far, there hasn't been much difference between the LNP and ALP.

I thought that things were going ok, considering the current economic situation.

The Hon Scott Emerson MP, Minister for Transport and Main Roads has implemented their election promises concerning:
'9 journeys then free'
He's reduced the proposed 15% fare hikes down to 7.5% for both January 2013 and 2014 (better than a poke in the eye with a 15% blunt stick).
He has begun the process for CRR Lite.
He has implemented a review of the bus network.
He has examined and reported back publicly on the 2 major network wide incidents that occurred prior to the election.

I would have given the Minister an 7.5 for all of the above, ... that is until this afternoon at 3:01pm when I received his Government's response to rail duplication to the Sunshine Coast being brought forward.
We will be lucky if the LNP meets the former Labor Government deadlines under the QIP.

I tried to give credit where it was due, but (generously) decided upon a 5 given today's severely disappointing response to the Sunshine Coast rail duplication e-petition.

Agreed.. BCC has to let go of the reigns and act purely in an advisory role.
7 years at Bayside Buses
33 years at Transport for Brisbane
Retired and got bored.
1 year at Town and Country Coaches and having a ball !

Thanks Otto, that is a green light for me.  Semaphore signal 90o up!

We can never seem to get 100% for one option on a poll but we can somehow manage to acheive this  ;D ;D

I was going to say! Same here, very disappointing e-mail. Why don't they realise the strategic importance of this stretch. The road is *dual* carriageway to Cooroy.

I think he is a diablos portfolio but gave 1.6billion extra to Increasing traffic congestion, car usage and road trauma.  Not getting good marks for that alone. He is being very tough on Queensland Rail.

They deserve it.  Everything they touch, they !@#$%

On a cost per trip basis, they are even worse than Cityrail, and that is saying something.

Then undertake a operational benchmarking and plan an improvement program to get them to leading practice.  Slash & burn is unlikely to improve the situation.

To be fair, the ALP never met their own deadlines re: Sunshine Coast duplication, either.
