From memory so some of the below is only my recollection:

Channel 7 News article on GoCard - some information informed by FOI applications.

The tone of the article was that there were current issues with the takeup and rollout - suggesting new fare structures and more takeup required.

$99.0M dollars to implement - $10.0M overbudget due to the need to rollout to more buses than originally anticipated.

One day in February $360 taken in gocard revenue.

One day in February 3,500 + errors recorded with gocards.

Interview with opposition member who wants to see fairer structures and greater rollout.

Interview with Minister, it's been a success however some "minor" changes may be made to fare structures, interview with Minister finished with these words with respect to potential new fare structures:

"when the money becomes available to afford them we will let you know"

I suppose working on this logic we should start to charge each and every road user for each and every journey and then tell car users that new roads will be delivered when the money becomes available.

Good to see a high profile media focus on the GoCard - it could be a real asset to the public transport commuters with the implementation of many of the hints, tips, suggestions from this online community (and many others).

Good to see the public acknowledgement that the go card needs improvements!
