Simple topic, but why does the 443...

-Exist at all?
-Not at least go via the Western Freeway, if we are to have it?

Discuss....

whats the patrongage like? if it has good patronage levels then chances are it wont be adjusted anytime in the near future

What a ridiculous route! Same as 444 but pre-paid.

CUT!!

Dump paper ticketing and then all buses can be sped up - no need for P system routes.
Too many of everything in Brisbane. Someone should tell them that people like SIMPLICITY

Move the P to the current 444. Fixed :)

I wouldn't go as far as cutting it without knowing the loadings on the 444/443 at peak times.

Anyone who lives beyond Chapel Hill loves their 443. You'll be fighting tooth and nail to get that one cut.

QuoteA field guide to transit quarrels
The "field guide" is a metaphor. He is trying to categorize the arguments in ways that describe but do not judge or recommend. He thinks that the quarrels reflect the "chaos of nature". There are all kinds of claims, put forward with intense fervour and absolute sincerity. He has a book coming this fall that deals with this mass of claims about service and technology which he tries to place upon a "spectrum of authorities"

my feelings
our feelings
culture
psychology
biology
physics
math/geometry
The intensity increases as the "sphere of influence" declines. It goes from cold to hot (bottom to top)

A network that consists of fewer lines is easier to use and understand. Remove P443 and put on more 444s  or other services. Remove paper ticketing and then there is no reason to run special P buses. This is true WHATEVER the feelings of people of Chapel Hill and beyond have.

I too would like a special P bus ROCKET to my house. I feel very strongly about it! Not gonna happen...

ARGH!

(a) It also avoids the need to deviate into Indooroopilly shoppingtown.
(b) It runs express between Chapel Hill and Roma St, avoiding stops where it would compete with trains
(c) It carries decent loads - ever used it or seen it go past?
(d) I presume it avoids the Western Freeway because at the time of its creation the planners felt the traffic was better via Coro.  I'd be very surprised if this was correct on the outbound because it gets the worst of the traffic on Milton Rd which is up to Cribb St.
(e) It probably should stop at Indooroopilly school, but doesn't.
(f) It probably should serve Milton for Milton workers.
