SEQ:  Go card - money goes, refund slows!

RAIL Back On Track (http://backontrack.org) a web based community support group for rail and public transport and an advocate for public transport users has called for an urgent review of the refund process of incorrect fares and penalties on the go card.  Many go card users, current and former, are waiting weeks and weeks for return of monies incorrectly debited to their go card accounts (1).

Robert Dow, Spokesman for RAIL Back On Track said:

?The standard period for return of incorrectly debited funds on a go card is within ten business days. This is itself excessive, but lately there have been many reports of people waiting greater than 30 days for the return of their funds.?

?It is time the Queensland Government acted to resolve the delays with the return of monies incorrectly debited to user go cards. Faulty equipment and an error prone system on the buses and ferries are causing a lot of incorrect charges for users who are persisting with the go card.?

?In today's e-environment surely the funds can be returned within two business days??

?Why are go card users waiting weeks for their money?  Is it a back door interest bonus for Cubic and Translink?

?RAIL Back On Track calls on the Queensland Government and Translink to urgently review the processes involved and change it to within a two business day time frame for refunds.?
