Despite the comments from the Translink spokesman, the problems of false charges and free travel is wide spread.  This is supported by a lot of feedback here and elsewhere.

GOody

I presume the free travel is more than adequately subsidised by those people who get charged more for using their Go card than those using daily, off-peak daily or weekly tickets and those who are paying penalty fares or doubled-up fares due to timezone glitches and equipment malfunctions.

I wonder if Translink will publish details on the number of penalty fares they are recording per week?

I doubt that they will GOody. I know some media outlets have tried to get that information.
We cannot even get passenger loading figures on our public transport.  They obviously have something to hide!

We are looking at some very serious problems come the removal of the ten trippers, not that the fact the go card is not working reliably now should be regarded as serious by the Minister for Transport, Translink and the Queensland Citizens generally. After all is the taxpayers money that seems to be thrown around with not much thought or attention?

It is time the Government/Translink came clean.
