The real growth down there has actually been on the buses, which is no surprise - they have rolled out a lot of minimum 6am-9pm half-hourly services, upgraded old services, implemented Smartbus routes etc.  Tram patronage is going nowhere relatively speaking because they aren't spending any serious money on expanding route length, the fleet strength or vehicle sizes.  Trains are seeing some improvement.
