Independent candidate for South Brisbane by-election transport policy

Noticed that an independent is running for our by-election. Have taken a look at his website and notes his policies, which include:

Let's fix public transport
A new $2 two-stop ticket to cross the river or take a short-trip
(save over $400 annually on full gocard fares)
Expand Zone 1 to include all of the 4101, 4102 and 4168 postcodes
Expanding the Zone 1/2 buffer to get more stops like Dutton Park train station and the Woolloongabba busway included
Connecting the CityCycle system to the Go-card. Yes, the current system is struggling now, but CityCycle is an essential part of our public transport future.
Getting the Gabba and Boggo Road cross-river underground stations built

Going against the ALP, Greens, LNP, FF, KAP, DS4SEQ and Socialist Alliance, he doesn't have much chance of getting in but it's worth our consideration anyway.

Being in the 4101 postcode, I wouldn't mind access to cheaper fares though.

Well, Wooloongabba is a logical 1/2 boundary station. Particularly once CRR happens, given it's closer to the city than Park Rd...

The guy is switched on, I particularly like the $2 fare.

The zone 1 boundary should be expanded, I would like to see all of new farm/tennerife/newstead included as well as the gabba, west end and out to toowong, Ideally even include UQ.

Reducing the flag fall component is perhaps a better approach.  That way all short  journeys become a better option.  Not only in inner Brisbane but someone travelling from Ipswich suburbs into the local town centre, ditto Caboolture.

I attended the "Meet The Candidates" event on Friday night at West End. I was there to support the Daylight Saving Party candidate. I was impressed by most of what Jason McKenzie said on various issues.

It's a state one and the DS4SEQ are running in the state by-election, not council.
