195 does nothing for Merthyr Rd.
Merthyr Road doesn't have a problem. The buses don't fill until they are onto Brunswick Street.

1. T2 lanes are required on ann street but brunswick doesn't get to congested, theres actually more congestion out of peak as the outside lanes can be used for parking.

That's interesting - I've been there in the mornings and it has been quite congested. I will be going past tomorrow so I will have another peek. I still think peak hour T2 lanes would be a good idea along the length of Brunswick Street. Paint can and sign level of cost and can be done overnight.
You are attempting to solve the wrong problem - a problem that doesn't exist. There is no congestion on Brunswick Street on weekdays. Heavy congestion occurs on weekend mid-mornings only. I believe that is only because parking is allowed at that time. Remove all parking on Brunswick Street and there is no congestion and definitely no need for a T2 lane.

What about outbound?

I don't know how to judge it out bound? Very few people are ever left behind outbound. VERY few.

I'm willing to stand corrected on this but my limited experience with PM peak outbound towards New Farm on the 196's was it depended how long since the last bus rocked up.  If the buses bunch up, the first one gets slammed.

In that case it isn't too long until the next one though.

South/North and East/West Subways ARE THE Answer!
SEQ, where our only "fast-track" is in becoming the rail embarrassment of Australia!   :frs:
