  • Serves Regal Twin cinemas
  • Serves Sherwood Rd shopping strip (Restaurants etc)

  • Serves QEII Hospital (via Middle St & Troughton Rd is more pedestrian-friendly for the hospital.
  • Serves QSAC (QEII Stadium)

The Good

  • Connects with 4xx buses at Indooroopilly
  • Connects with rail at Indooroopilly (also Chelmer, Graceville & Sherwood - but why bother?)
  • Serves Regal Twin cinemas
  • Serves Sherwood Rd shopping strip (Restaurants etc)
  • Serves Sherwood Industrial Estate
  • Serves Rocklea Markets
  • Serves numerous shops along Kessels Rd, Macgregor (JB Hi-Fi, Super A-Mart etc)
  • Serves Macgregor High School
  • Interchange with numerous routes at GC Interchange/Upper Mt Gravatt Busway

The Bad

  • Doesn't connect with Ipswich Rd routes (crosses after it has become a motorway)
  • Doesn't connect with Beaudesert Rd routes (crosses at underpass under Beaudesert Rd)
  • Doesn't connect with trains at Coopers Plains (express Gold Coast trains)
  • Make a small diversion for Macgregor High School, although this was partly also to avoid the terrible traffic that builds turning from Kessels Rd to MacGregor St

Opinions are welcomed  :)

Prefer the first one.

I wouldn't worry to much about not connecting with the Ipswich Rd routes.  There's only one there, the 100, and if you need to you can still do it with a 1km walk.  Similarly Beaudesert Rd.  Just walk along Muriel Ave.

Not serving Coopers Plains is a limitation, but you can't do everything with one route.  Use a Beenleigh line train from Salisbury.

I'd prefer to see Coopers served. Its inevitably going to be slow on current timetables to change at Salisbury and go a short distance and then change again....Low frequency double whammy.

With the original proposal, I'd stay on Lilian Ave.  I don't see the need to get off it.

Google Maps wouldn't let me route that way, I assumed it must have been a no right turn from into Orange Grove Rd but without visiting it I couldn't be sure.

When Flagstone & Gold Coast services stop at Salisbury, then it will be the obvious choice as the rail/bus interchange. However, this may not occur for decades.

All the proposed routes have their advantages & disadvantages. I believe it is a worthy cross town service but none of the proposed routes stand out as a clear favourite though.

There needs to be bus priority through Chelmer for the last kilometre or so leading up to the Walter Taylor Bridge in the AM peak.

Correct.
We could put buses excepted though couldn't we?  Or perhaps a bus can't navigate it.

Direct routes going along virtually empty floodplains don't seem a good use of resources to me.

My route does properly serve Yeerongpilly.  You put bus stops on King Arthur just at Fairfield Rd, then people can walk the spitting distance to the overbridge tower and access the station that way.

You don't need to serve Yeronga Station, but if necessary you can just realign it slightly via Lake/Killarney/Park so it does.  My intention sending it that way was to connect it to Ipswich and Beaudesert Rd services.

Hmm, I guess you can do that walk to Yeerongpilly.

I'm much more inclined to support the one to Carindale as that connects much more and Garden City is connected with a pretty easy interchange.

I'm still concerned about not serving Rocklea markets, even though it's on a flood plain its a good trip generator in my limited observations.
