Has everybody heard of the Bishop Austrans system (http://www.austrans.com)? There are enthusiasts for it hiding in the bureaucracy, who see it as a potential solution to provision of high frequency service 24/7 on routes that could link outer suburbs to main line citytrain routes.  :-w

Any comments?

This system is very similar to one that is 30+years old., the elevator company had developed what is essentially the same and from memory was used at Expo 70? in Canada.

It's called Personal Rapid Transit (PRT). A system is under construction at Heathrow T5 in London to connect the terminal with the car parks. http://www.atsltd.co.uk/prt/
