5 Day poll

Thinking about a possible BUZ 100, where should the route go?

INCLUDE MOOROOKA:

A BUZ 100 down Beaudesert Road and Granard Road,
Moorooka's busy suburban centre, Bunnings Rocklea and Bunnings Oxley could be served before
a quick trip using the Ipswich Motorway to service Inala and Forest Lake.

EXCLUDE MOOROOKA
Stick to the current routing from the PA Hospital along Ipswich Rd, Ipswich Mwy, Blunder Rd.  Beaudesert Rd service will need to be provided by another route or routes.

I'm all for the BUZ 100 but I think Beaudesert Rd should be served by a different route, same for Granard Rd.

Granard Rd is short enough that you can walk to the 110 from anywhere along it.

Golliwog

Although I do see benefit in a cross city route from the Ipswich line along Granard Rd to the SE busway.

Well the results came back in- its opinion slightly favours cutting Moorooka off, but only by a hair-thin margin.
IMHO the release could be altered to say a BUZ down the Ipswich road corridor and leave the final destination up to TL... More discussion might have to happen in the thread about this one..

I agree. Darra Railway Station to Garden City via Ipswich Motorway, Granard Rd, Riawena Rd & Kessels Rd with a slight detour to Salisbury Railway Station.

Speaking of cross city routes, what about an express bus service from Redbank/Goodna to Beenleigh via the Logan Motorway? A stop at Browns Plains would probably be a good idea. This would drastically cut travel times for those wanting to travel between Ipswich & the Gold Coast.

I see merit in that, but Oxley would be as convenient and cheaper.

I believe that in 10 to 15 years this route will be a rail line.  I think the bus route has a lot of merits and should start immediately

Maybe a pre election special.  I don't think the libs would do it.

Monday 31-10-2011 Route 100 becomes a "Buz" :) :-t

Why not Darra?

It's closer to the Centenary Mwy and is about 2.5km shorter according to Google Maps.  Plus it has the bonus of serving Ipswich express services.

Also I think there is no need to go all the way to Beenleigh, I think Loganlea would be sufficient.  Most Gold Coast trains stop there as well.  Continuing on to Loganlea would just lead to wasteful duplication of the rail service.

That's the only advantage of Darra as far as I can see, and it's further.

According to Google Maps, Darra is actually 0.7km shorter.  Certainly not the 2.5km claimed by jouzocha but I think that, along with the express stopping patterns, definitely makes it worthwhile to have the theoretical bus route terminate there.

Wouldn't Harcourt Rd be better for going to Darra?

Very interesting.  I wasn't thinking of going via the Motorways.  Seems that Darra is more logical on those maps.

Perhaps a non-motorway route would make more sense.  It would certainly serve more people, in which case Oxley is definitely a better choice.

Oxley to Loganlea (no Motorways)

Darra to Loganlea (no Motorways)

I still think the motorway option could be used as an express service in peak hours at least.  I'm sure it would save time (and also free up seats on citybound services) for people travelling from Ips->Been/GC. rather than via Roma St.

Really proud of the BUZ 100. Went on it last weekend and looking at it late evening this weekend and patronage on it seems to be building up nicely.
