331/332/341 Add a stop on Elizabeth St!

Doing some digging, it seems that Elizabeth St stop 84 is unused in the PM peak.  Why can't the 331/332/341 serve this stop?  Would make it easier to use these buses and help let people get on the 330/333 at KGSBS+Roma St.

Unless there is a traffic issue, seems reasonable.  Stop 89 is quite isolated and probably contributes in no small part to the light loadings on these services.

I have trouble seeing why these routes don't all take the same route as the 321 between the RBWH and city.

So long as you are referring to only the bit where it makes a left turn at the end of Creek St towards Upper Edward St.  Then I agree.

I'm not sure why Gregory Tce O/B and Water St I/B either.  Is Water St congested O/B?

Regarding the last comment, I think our message had gotten mangled.  We meant that the out of service buses returning from 331/332/341 routes should serve Roma St-RB&WH on the busway. So a new route, not a re-route of the existing routes.

They won't add additional INB runs as they believe that KGSBS is near capacity on platform 1, except 1f and 1b.  Perhaps we need more 222 type routes  ::)

There is a need to improve the effectiveness of the via Spring Hill routes to allow people to board at Roma St.

An alternative to this would be to use Adelaide St instead of Elizabeth St.  Eastbound in the PM peak isn't that busy on Adelaide St.  Probably, then you'd use Wharf St rather than Creek St.  Then, maybe St Paul's Tce?

The major downside to that would be some passengers from near Eagle St might have to walk further.  But it would still be nearer than KGSBS, by a wide margin.  They also have the alternative of 344/384 services then interchange, so long as stops are made at appropriate places.

A final alternative would be a "City Precincts" route (Margaret/Wharf), but I'm not in favour of that one.

There is a lot of traffic congestion on Elizabeth St, and if we tried to call for a bus lane on Elizabeth St, the response would be "these buses should be using the roads they already have".  I must say, I do have some sympathy for that argument.

Went down to stop 89 around 5:50pm last night.  A 331 & 332 rocked up, both empty, and 3 people got on each.  A second 332 was approaching shortly after this, again empty, so I presume that one did its whole route empty.

Radical suggestion.  PM 341 starts at W'Gabba, runs through the busway and continues along the 341 route from RB&WH.  In other words, replaces a northbound 66 run in the PM peak.  This needs to be combined with some other move to increase capacity on the INB, such as the 393 re-extension.  Has driver training issues as a different depot would be operating it.

The merit of this is that it gives 340/341 users a centre of CBD stop to board their service - 340 doesn't run in peak.
