Routes that just don't need to go to the CBD.

I'm modifying the originial intent of this topic, but can we get a comprehensive list going of routes that just shouldn't go to the CBD, but do. and should either terminate at a Bus station or rail station.

First ones i came across by accident because I was looking at what feeders the Shorncliffle line had. 306 and 322. http://translink.com.au/resources/travel-information/services-and-timetables/timetables/100510_306,322.pdf

No STB, I have never ridden these routes in my life. I'm armchair planning.

They certainly annoy Chris Hale.  Mentioned at the CPTF.

They do provide a service on the inner part of Sandgate Rd.

I also love the way the 322 runs random short trips to some arbirtary instersection on Rode Rd, rather than just going all the way to Toombul.

With that out of the way, why do we have two 'coverage' routes like this even going into the city? Why do they have any need to travel any further inbound than Toombul?

LOL, I wasn't even thinking of responding until I saw you say that!  Mind you though I did do some informal work on the 306/322 a few years back, might have to dig up what I did now that it has been mentioned, informal meaning, I did some armchair planning stuff when I had nothing to do while working.  Even though I was never directed to, figured I'd draw some lines on a map and excuse the patronage data.

Hopefully my memory serves me well, or I'll have to go digging around here at home to find out what I had actually come up with.

There are a lot of anachronisms in this part of the network (eg Pleystowe Cr loop on the 301, the many termini on the 306).  Time to do some major rewriting all over the shop.

OP modified, lets get a list going.

Try to be somewhat fair though, it's gotta have some serious milk running going on to be a candidate.

I don't think the 306/322 should be terminated at Toombul.  They actually provide a useful service along Sandgate Rd through Clayfield and part of Albion, where Sandgate Rd is some distance from the railway line.  They also supplement the 300 to give better frequency along Breakfast Creek Rd.

The obvious ones to me are the multitude of western routes, although due to the lack of a decent interchange facility at Indooroopilly, I'm not sure how that can be fixed.

Others: 360/361 should both only run between Enoggera & Mitchelton.

I don't see the problem with Indooroopilly interchange.

It never ceases to amaze me that whatever infrastructure is present, it is never enough.  But when it comes to services, they are usually satisfactory at present.

Other than asking what's bad about it, what's good about it? Nothing. Completely illegible and horrible for pedestrians.

Adequate capacity.  I think it's pretty legible.

Really, the only thing which annoys me about Indro interchange is the ridiculous speed bump and stop sign stuff.  Were pedestrians run over?  You'd really have to walk/run out without looking to have a problem there IMO.  I suppose I would add that the deviation needed thanks to the location isn't good.

Sorry, I think I may have confused people about Indooroopilly, what I actually meant was interchange at the railway station, which is practically non-existent.  I think with that in place, most of the western routes could terminate there with people getting to Toowong/Milton/CBD much faster than bus, especially in peak hours.

somebody

Ah, Ok.

I would be very interested in what the study had to say about the merits of that interchange, but without upgraded rail services, I do not see the merit in it.  There are numerous bigger transport failures in Brisbane.
