It's been mentioned in media etc. that the CityGlider scheme might be extended to Woolloongabba and Hamilton, so I have been looking at a possible route.

My proposed route (click me!)

In a nutshell, my proposed route runs from PA Hospital busway station, along Ipswich Rd, through Woolloongabba via Jurgens St to the city via the busway, then running via the Valley, KSD, Macarthur Ave to Hamilton Northshore.
Alternatively, this route could run via the Storey Bridge, but that would completely miss the city connection for those coming from Hamilton. They could change to CityGlider MkI in the valley though.
EDIT: Could also run via CCB to Elizabeth St, serving Woolloongabba station.

My only concerns is that it duplicates cityglider MkI a bit too much and adds to the congestion at the cultural centre.

Northern half of the route until the Valley is fine.

I would suggest perhaps sending it via Eagle Street, Parliament and CCB to the Gabba, and possibly send it as far as Annerley Junction.

I think a service of this quality this close to the CBD needs to go there, but perhaps the 475/476 could be made to terminate at the Gabba if this goes in and provide a better service for KP.

I was thinking CCB, the CC is too congested and over serviced I would think. With it going via Woolloongabba, I can see the 200 being easily scrapped.

I think it would be helpful if the route could service Park Rd/Boggo Rd Station, but I had a go and it turned it into a bit of a milk run.  I also incorporated the Eagle St idea.

I don't honestly think it is a very good route though.  Too indirect and doesn't service PAH.  Is there any way to service both PAH & Park/Boggo Rd and NOT be a horribly convoluted route?  Not that the interchange is all that good anyway, with passengers having to walk up Quarry St to get to the station.

Extend it down Fanny Street so it connects to rail at least. Annerley Junction is a weird place to terminate a high frequency route tbh, a little bit wasteful.
In your scenario, what it could do is turn into the busway at Dutton Park (where the 104 etc. join it), serve Boggo Rd and PA, then exit onto Ipswich Rd to the Gabba.
I would think travelling along Jurgens St is sufficient, going via Wellington Rd creates a whole heap of issues with one way roads.

Annerley Junction is one of those places which I think with a little prodding from BCC could support much higher densities - Mt Gravatt Central, Carina, Coorparoo and all up and down Gympie Road are others.  It has the advantage of being much closer to town than some of those other mid-range locations, and has rail nearby.

There's no point in diverting it via the PAH Busway just for the sake of it, particularly where there is an entrance to the hospital right opposite the commercial precinct down the road a bit.  You can interchange with UQ Lakes services at the Gabba or by walking to the PAH station.  Stop placement on Ipswich Rd could be reviewed in that respect, but I think little else is needed.

Which leaves us with this?

Not sure if the frequency should be the same as the current cityglider, every 5mins in peak might not be justifiable.
I'd argue for BUZ service at least.

Is it worth sending it to terminate at the Greenslopes Hospital?  I have no idea how busy it is, never been there except to go past on a a 172 once years ago.

How important is serving the CBD? Would running via Kangaroo Point (serving a stop outside The Gabba busway station) be faster to get across town?
