Those reliability figures aren't particularly good.

Stillwater

They are published line by line though.  Very useful.

Yes, sort of thing I would like to see up on  either Queensland Rail's or TransLink's website.

The also publish a break up of the tram routes as well --> here!

Can't see comparable bus data, but we all know in Queensland buses always run on time and the never have a no show, so I guess it is all over ....

I have been told that I may have to make an Right to Information request for individual line figures ...

Can you believe it ?
Queensland the secret state where the real facts are not allowed to be scrutinised.
Watch this space.

I wonder which paper I will call ?

Unbelievable!  Look at all the government glossy documents that talk about 'accountability', 'transparency', 'dialogue with our stakeholders' etc
Our pollies have to be dragged kicking and screaming to do what they promise.

It's the same story with the QR passenger load surveys.

Media release 19 October 2011

SEQ: Call for transparency with public transport performance and load data

RAIL Back On Track (http://backontrack.org) a web based community support group for rail and public transport and an advocate for public transport passengers has called for the routine public release of detailed and accurate, performance and load data for public transport, as in other states of Australia (1,2,3).

Robert Dow, Spokesman for RAIL Back On Track said:

"Detailed load and performance data for public transport in south-east Queensland is not made publicly available as in other states.  This suggests that the authorities are more interested in maintaining a cloak of secrecy and non-transparency, and covering up failure."

"We call on TransLink to make publicly available timely and accurate performance data for all railway lines, bus and ferry routes."

"Why is necessary to resort to Right To Information requests for data that is made readily available in other states?  Is there something to hide?"

"Taxpayers and the public transport community are tired of being treated with contempt!"

Great media release Bob, you'd think those news outlets with a focus on FOI: 7, 9, Courier-Mail, Brisbane Times find the media release great fodder for their stories. I hope so.

Fares_Fair

I have resorted to keeping my own detailed records (on this site) to ascertain the true statistics of on time performances for the services that I catch.
It defies every empty cliche of openess, accountability and transparency that they would deliberately hide this most basic of information.
