Route 192 timetable reversion

The added West End short-running 192 services will be removed from 8th August.

While it's good we've got the cats back, the 192 actually gave a nifty link home for people along it's route who AREN'T near the ferry. The late night services (7:15, 8:15 etc.) and Saturday services will also be removed.

Considering my classes all finish at 7-8pm this semester, it seems like I am back to walking. Thanks, TL  ::)

(btw a lot of these "temporary" services were actually quite full and most of the people weren't destined for West End ferry!)

Grrr. I only ever used it once, but I don't see what the problem would be. Though apparently the Citycats are bleeding passengers.

Never argue with an idiot. They'll drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

So your proposal is to make the temporary timetable permanent, or something else?

Pretty much. It actually made it a more useful service. Though they could probably cut the all back to West End Ferry as past there is just mirrors the Cityglider. I don't see why anyone in the CBD would catch the 192 to get to UQ.

Perhaps they are heading CBD-Dornoch Tce.  Although given that this is likely slower and less frequent than the closer 196/199 options, I can't imagine this was a popular option.

IMO, if at present there is patronage on the 192 between CBD and West End Ferry, its because it shares the same stops as Cityglider, not because it actually attracts patronage itself.

I will admit I have only caught it once going to UQ to West End, but on that trip there were a number of passengers and they got off mostly between UQ and the ferry. Pretty sure I was the only one to remain on all the way to West End (where it terminated as it was one of the additional runs) though there were a few who got on between the ferry and West End.

Simply keep services but only to the ferry (as said above)

I'd change the services at night back 15min
A 7 or 8pm bus is more useful than a 7:15 or 8:15 one, classes finish 10 to the hour.

Another very poor timetable change implementation by Translink.

HBU walked past the 192 UQ Lakes bus stop at 7:30pm and saw 20-30 odd annoyed commuters waiting for the 7:15 service, completely unaware it had been cancelled. The old timetable was still up (fail 1) so people didn't know it was cancelled (rightly so), the notice board put up merely refereed to the changes and the start of the citycats and the pre-flood timetable reversion, but didn't list which services were cancelled (fail 2). All it needed was another line saying "the following services are cancelled: weekday services at 4:45, 5:15 etc. and all after 6pm and all weekend services". There was a 192 bus there at the stop BUT the driver changed the desto to a 209 and went to the next stop (fail 3). The change was also announced a mere 4 days before the change (fail 5). Changes like this should be announced a minimum of 2 weeks in advance, especially since the citycat opening date has been known for a while.

This is why people have such little faith in our PT system, and rightly so.

-1 to Translink.

Thanks for these observations HBU.  Disappointing to say the least ..

Nothing has changed. Old timetable is still up. A frame as vague as ever and public none the wiser!

Stop 33 at Adelaide St still shows the 197, so this surprises me not at all.  (Stop 33 was also branded as "Stop 131 Chancellor" on the Spring Hill Loop for a bit as well, but only on one side of course...)
