Brisbane to trial Aussie first ride-sharing mopeds

About 50 electric, bright orange mopeds will pop-up across Brisbane in an Australian-first plan that's tipped to revolutionise urban transport.

Lime electric scooters huge challenge for cities

In some states local councils don't have the power to regulate electric scooters, as they are considered vehicles and are regulated by the state ...

AUSTRALIA'S first moped ride-sharing operation will launch in Brisbane, promising riders an efficient and emissions-free way of travelling the city.

Within weeks eMoped will place 50 electric motorcycles across the city which users locate, unlock, ride and return to locations across Brisbane using their phone.

Two helmets will be provided on each bright orange motorcycle, with riders.

Correct me if I'm wrong but aren't the mopeds as pictured classified as motorcycles in QLD? Meaning you'd need a drivers license etc.?

The roll-out of Australia's first electric ride-sharing mopeds in Brisbane has been delayed by a glitch in the booking software. The city council was unaware of the impending roll-out while the State Government will be launching close scrutiny of a trial. @STitmus7 #7NEWS https://t.co/L8VqVH2q1X
