Blurb: This app will save you having to search through you go card history for overcharging.
Trips geater than your normal cost go into the 'Fare Scare Report'.

Instructions : login to your go card site (or press Go). Go to the history tab on the go card site, and list your transactions for the last 6 months. Once you have done this press the GO button.


It is assumed for any trip, that the max time between tagging on/off is a set time

A world class ticketing system has nothing to fear from an external validation application does it?

Thanks for sharing your application ozmike and welcome. 

Standard warnings when downloading exe files though.  Check with a reputable anti-viral program before executing.

I had a go with it.  I don't like having to use IE but that is just me I guess, anyway ..

Ran it and it showed these 'errors'

None of these are errors Mike, the Gympie North is when I touched off on arrival at the end of a number of trips. And then touched back on for the homeward journey.

Second trip is 'an Eagle Rock '  breaking a journey from BNE at Eagle Junction.  As far it goes the correct fares were charged.

Third was just a trip to BNE, correct fares were charged.

Fourth seems to be a rounding error for a cent.  (This was a fixed fare error which was subsequently refunded when I attempted to board the first 88 bus via the rear door ... lol)

So a little more work needed!

Mrs Ozbob then volunteered to check her go card history.  Mrs Ozbob has a very predictable travel behaviour compared to me LOL, either rail Goodna <--> CBD or Richlands <--> CBD.  Occasionally a break for shopping at Indooroopilly or Toowong.

For her it worked fine. There are no errors detected and there aren't any on her history either.

Yeah only a rough prototype..IE is the easiest at this stage

eventually might port to a mobile app..

needs more work..not sure what tweaks are need to the algorithm..

This looks funny the famous - 'tag on tag off  error same second...error'

The airport one i think if your trip is longer than 1 hr, they rightly charge you again..
so the second amount should be excluded..(for version 2).
An airport fare will always be more than you normal cost..but lets say
you didn't tag off on a normal trip and get slugged 5 dollars ..it would get flagged
so its of some limited use?..thanks anyway for the feedback..

my commute is pretty standard and i tag on/ off..2 bus 2 zones
and i do get errors ..which are a pain to refund..but thanks
for running the 'app' and mrsozbob ! too . i'll look at the data you've given me..

.unfortunately the data .. that translink supplies dosen't give the bus number!?..when you submit
a correction they then ask what bus you travel which would help! they know!

any ideas ..are welcome.
should work for trains too..
