Love or not Newman, he's doing something no-one in Qld has done in over 20yrs - focussing govt attn on the need to deliver infrastructure and as the other link shows - rail still needs to SHOUT LOUD.

At least more people are considering infrastructure issues - it's been along time coming!

Let's all get "unreasonable for RAIL" in the next State Election - no more studies, plans and reports - it's time for REAL BIG ACTION!   :pr   :pr   :pr   :pr   :pr   :pr

Careful.... Campbell Newman might want to call his 20-year Infrastructure Plan 'Building Queensland 2031'.  Hummmm, shades of SEQIPP and Connecting SEQ 2031.   :-\

:-r  ooohhh Lord NO!  No more study titles pleaseeeee.......
How about - commencing next week the govt is GOING to!

I would like to see the current infrastructure fixed up. How embarrassing and absolutely dismal is it that the train system on many lines cannot cope with a train every 15 minutes off-peak in both directions without causing major problems. Trains every 15 minutes is "basic frequency".

The only extension I think is really needed is the spur out to Caloundra for a stub as part of CAMCOS. Get rid of single track, add crossovers, make the service faster, upgrade signalling to take 30tph etc...
Negative people... have a problem for every solution. Posts are commentary and are not necessarily endorsed by RAIL Back on Track or its members.

A Newman policy or infrastructure plan will have little if any rail or public transport projects.  He is a roads man through and through!

There is an obvious need here to lobby strongly for rail not only with Mr Newman but with all LNP members and candidates and also with those of the Queensland party whose suport for infrastructure projects that will affect their electorates will become critical in the course of the election and if they become elected more so.  Time to start bending the ears of the local LNP members or candidates before Newman commits to anything relating to transport infrastructure.

Why only LNP members or candidates? I would go with any and all candidates/members that will listen.
There is no silver bullet... but there is silver buckshot.
Never argue with an idiot. They'll drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.
