It would seem that the Government is seeking to increase the revenue base from fares for Translink to pay for their new Transit Authority.
The increased revenue will come from increased fares brought about by the introduction of the Go Card to be paid by those who can least afford fare increases and have no choice but to use Public Transport and who will eventually be forced to use this much flawed Go Card system.
A Multi trip journey with breaks that using the current Daily concession ticket costs $ 5.00 would under the new ticketing systen increase in cost to $ 8.50 an increase of %70, more than a little above the rate of inflation.

If like most users of Public Transport you have concerns about this exorbitant fare increase by deceit write to your local Member, the Minister and the Premier and ask them for their explanation and how do they justify such a large fare increase.

Maybe if enough voters let them know that we are less than impressed they might give some constructive thought to fixing a much flawed system.
