Travel free to the cricket with TransLink

Patrons going to tomorrow's one-day international cricket final between Australia and India can travel to and from the game free with TransLink.

Patrons just need to show their pre-paid ticket on any Brisbane Transport bus or QR Citytrain service to take advantage of the free travel offer.

Minister for Transport, Trade, Employment and Industrial Relations John Mickel said public transport was the best way to get to the game.

"Riding with a game ticket with TransLink to the cricket is the best way to get to and from tomorrow's cricket final at the Gabba," he said.

"You don't have to worry about parking, you don't have to worry about traffic, all you have to do is grab one of the dozens of services on offer and enjoy the game.

"And best of all, travel on bus and train services to and from the game is free with your match-day ticket.

"As we saw at Skilled Park on the Gold Coast over the weekend, public transport is clearly the best way to get people to and from events.

"Feedback from commuters who attended the Titans game against the Tigers last Saturday night and from People's Day the weekend before was extremely positive about how easy it was to use TransLink for event travel.

"I encourage all patrons to tomorrow's cricket match to take a lead from Titans fans and consider taking public transport to the game."
