A $10 MILLION Labor contract to build a bus interchange at Ringwood Railway Station has been scrapped by the Baillieu government.

Transport Minister Terry Mulder has cancelled it, saying the bus development will become part of a $60 million state government overhaul of the railway station area.

Work on the Baillieu government's plan will not start until 2014-15. Work on the former Labor government's $39 million interchange upgrade was to start this year.
