Can't use Brisbane as a comparison. We don't even have monthly tickets.

So, are they endorsing a plan to put up the price of single tickets and reduce the price of monthlies?  I think it might be 16 days in Sydney, about the same as what happened in Brisbane in 2009.

To be honest I would happily pay 20 days if it meant I could use it unlimited within my zones. I guess that is what happens when you don't have monthlies as a choice.
