What a co-incidence that they are holding it in PERTH!!!
Negative people... have a problem for every solution. Posts are commentary and are not necessarily endorsed by RAIL Back on Track or its members.

G'day Bob,
I went to the Ausrail expo, back in the '90's at the Brisbane Convention Center, they advertised on the radio that it was around the last day and it was free for the public, so I went.
Saw rail being welded, both by electric welding and by thermite, all kinds of maint procedures and equipment suppliers.
Had a look in the engine compartment of the XPT as well, it was great.
Hope to go again in Nov '11.
Have you been to one and what did you think of it ?.
Matt.

They are calling for submissions for academic papers to be presented at the AusRail Conference.  Perhaps Ozbob could dust off his academic credentials and put in a submission for a presentation.  Topic?  The Role of Public Advocacy in Shaping Australia's Urban Transport Policy and Land Use Planning.  Or somesuch.   ;D
