Adelaide Now: City bus timetables overhauled

QuoteMORE than 80 bus routes have been overhauled, including a new city-wide suburban connector bus service.

The changes, which will take effect from next month, affect routes across the northern, southern, eastern and western suburbs, as well as the Adelaide Hills.

Transport Minister Patrick Conlon said a new suburban connector route 300 would provide new or improved links between:

- Arndale Shopping Centre

- Klemzig Station (O-Bahn)

- Marden Shopping Centre

- Burnside Village

- Glen Osmond

- Mitcham Shopping Centre

- Repatriation General Hospital

- Pasadena Shopping Centre

- Flinders University

- Flinders Medical Centre

- Marion Shopping Centre

- Glenelg

- Harbour Town

- Henley Square and

- Queen Elizabeth Hospital.

Mr Conlon said 86 timetables had been overhauled.

"From January 2011, 28 new and upgraded routes will begin operating across the city to ensure Adelaide Metro services are where they are needed most, when they are needed most," he said.

"Our $2 billion investment is delivering an extra 20 new buses a year for four years, with 60 already in operation, providing for more than 400 immediate additional services where they are needed most at key times of the day.

"And in this year's State Budget the State Government delivered on its election commitment to provide a further 20 new buses for the outer north and south."
