Ideally 2x single direction 2.0m wide on either side of traffic lanes.

Bidirectional should be 4m not 3m if Dutch design guide followed.

Also traffic lane widths should be 2.8m not 2.9-3.0.

Plus no need for turning lane at Tribune Street. Traffic flow is of no importance here.

There was a good article in the Brisbane Times the other day how commuters are switching to cycling to the station and taking their bike on rather than driving. They are saying it's a time saver as well by the time they find a park and walk etc...., which is true from my own experience.

Queensland Parliament E-Petition

https://www.parliament.qld.gov.au/Work-of-the-Assembly/Petitions/Petition-Details?id=4181

Complete the Ferny Grove rail trail to Samford

TO: The Honourable the Speaker and Members of the Legislative Assembly of Queensland
Queensland Citizens draws to the attention of the House that the Ferny Grove to Samford Bikeway is incomplete.

This bikeway runs along the disused rail corridor and was intended to offer a safe, flat, cycling and walking route between Ferny Grove and Samford. The bikeway is currently completed from Ferny Grove to Petersen Road, but people wanting to access Samford Village from there must divert from the old rail corridor and walk or ride on Petersen Road, Camp Mountain Road and Samford Road. Large sections of these roads do not have footpaths or a sealed shoulder, so people must ride or walk on the road with motor vehicles or on the grassed verge. The route via Petersen Road and Camp Mountain Road is significantly longer and much hillier than the rail alignment, which compromises the amenity and safety of existing users, and reduces the potential for many more users - especially families with young children, older or less fit people and students of Ferny Grove State High School.

Your petitioners, therefore, request the House to direct the Queensland Government to complete the bikeway from Ferny Grove, along the rail alignment to Samford Road then continuing along Cash Avenue to Main Street, Samford Village.
