Or "pollute the Sunshine Coast with car exhaust whilst you can"?

"you can fall asleep and grow old while travelling on the train to the Sunshine Coast"

I don't know whats more sad.  The Trunk Bus Routes (operated by Sunshine Coast Sunbus) actually have a decent frequency (every 15mins between Caloundra and Maroochydore, and every 30 mins between Noosa-Maroochydore and Nambour-Kawana for example), yet patronage has been stale/little growth, or the rather poor rail frequency coupled with QR's insistence (and breaching their own zero harm policy while they're at it) of using toiletless EMUs on most services for 2-3hrs.

'Naturally refreshing' new look for Sunshine Coast tourism brand

The Sunshine Coast's new tourism brand has today been launched; setting a fresh direction for one of Australia's favourite holiday destinations.

Tourism Minister Peter Lawlor said the new brand - Sunshine Coast, Naturally refreshing - was a perfect fit for the Sunshine Coast.

"The Sunshine Coast is where you go for a revitalising holiday; and where you come away feeling refreshed and relaxed," Mr Lawlor said.

"The new brand positions the Sunshine Coast as a destination which offers a fresh, relaxing Australian holiday."

Mr Lawlor said Sunshine Coast, Naturally refreshing would differentiate the region from other Queensland destinations and captured the essence of the Sunshine Coast holiday experience.

"On the Sunshine Coast the people are friendly and the world is more relaxed," he said.

"The brand is a new way of communicating the feeling the Sunshine Coast gives visitors, and the diversity of experiences - from the beach to th e hinterland."

Sunshine Coast Destination Limited Chair Julie-Anne Schafer said the new brand speaks to consumers, instantly communicating the benefits of a holiday on the Sunshine Coast.

"We are a destination rich in natural attractions, from our pristine beaches and waterways to our lush green hinterland," Ms Schafer said.

"We are rich in experiences, offering a diversity and laid-back style all of our own, where visitors can expect to be totally refreshed," she said.
Mr Lawlor said Tourism Queensland and Sunshine Coast tourism industry representatives had worked together over the past 18 months to come up with the new brand.

"Input was sought from more than 6000 Australians and a working group of Sunshine Coast tourism businesses was also established to develop the new brand," he said.

"The new brand was created by combining consumers' insights and the tourism industry's vision to create a line that was inspirational and believa ble.

"Sunshine Coast, Naturally refreshing is a shift away from the previous promotion 'Find your space'."

Mr Lawlor said Sunshine Coast, Naturally refreshing was more than just a tagline - it was a new vision for the area and was aligned with the Sunshine Coast Regional Council's 'Natural Adventure' economic development strategy.

"Naturally, refreshing incorporates public relations, consumer awareness and retail campaigns all aimed at increasing expenditure and visitors to the region," he said.

Mr Lawlor said in the year ended June 2010, The Sunshine Coast welcomed more than 2.7 million international and domestic visitors to the region who spent $1.9 billion on their trips.

"In 2007-08, tourism directly employed 14,700 people in the Sunshine Coast or 12 percent of all persons directly employed in Queensland tourism industry," he said.

Just on the way home you get stuck in traffic jam on the highway in....
And if you catch the train, no relaxing either- no bathroom until you get to Brisbane, food & drink onboard is banned.

Catch a bus every 15min-30mins between major centres, yet the buses are only half full (if that) whilst the bus gets stuck in holiday/weekend traffic.

Though to the council's credit, subsidising the "Free Holiday Buses" for all TransLink Bus services on the Sunshine Coast is a start.
