Picture this - arrived at platform at 7.10am to purchase normal weekly ticket (Tuesday being the normal Monday with the usual peak of weekly ticket holders wanting a weekly ticket) but unfortunately only a single ticket window open, the single ticket machine out of order and around 100 people or so lined up at the single ticket window. Ticket seller at Oxley was telling people to board the train and buy reverse ticket at journey end. So I boarded the next train and exited at my city rail stop - to see around 50 people waiting at the single reverse ticket window and the line moving very very slowly.

I brought my weekly at Oxley at 5.05 am today!  Lucky I did ...

Thanks for the report Mozz.

Oxley still has one of the old TVMs (no sign of new ticket machine yet), but has three tag on/off devices!  One near the lift (which is already scratched I noticed yesterday morning) , one near western stairs and one on the eastern end of the platform.

At least you didn't get a fine!   :P

True Derwan, I did have my rationale ready should I have been questioned however it was not needed fortunately. But I do have a question as to why Oxley train station, which used to have 2 x ticket sellers available for the peak times eg first thing Monday morning (beginning of the week) but more recently this doesn't seem to be so - I applaud the patience of the commuters both at Oxley who were waiting in 40 metre lineup and then again in the City with the 30 or so metre line up - I can't say that I have that sort of patience.
