I was just having a look throught the Budget papers and noticed that moroon Glider is expected to cost only $2.25million compared with the Blue glider which is costing $5.6 million to operate. Heres the big question why is one only a fraction of the other?

Do you have a link to the budget papers?

Probably won't run every 5 minutes in the peak.

True. I'd be surprised if it was more often than every 10 minutes in peak, and even that I doubt would be fully justified.

It is a slightly shorter route, so no major cost saving there. Not sure about differences in dead running though, I assume the Maroon Gliders would be most likely based at the Toowong depot. Is the Maroon Glider also going to go 24hr Friday and Saturday nights?

I guess a lower peak service reduces bus ownership costs.  Will it be 15 minutes in peak perhaps?

Still I can't explain all of the difference either.

I know exactly how to get the Moron Glider for less than one-tenth of the budgeted cost!

Get the existing 385s, and the existing 222s, and through-route them together. Paint the buses maroon.

And there we have it - Moron Glider for the price of a few tins of paint  :-r
