DFO Jindalee could be added if the Indooroopilly-Sherwood section was altered (this bit runs currently runs through cowfields and paddocks to Rocklea).

Buses could run to Jindalee and then via Oxley to QE II Hospital.
DFO Brisbane Airport could be added just before Toombul as well.

Seems like too much of a diversion to me.  You can interchange for a 450/453/454/460 at Indro shops reasonably easily now.  Although the 450/453 don't have a particularly nice routing.

#Metro

Ok, fair comment  :)

What about the Airport DFO, that's a bit harder to get to.
I've taken the 453 before, it's reliable.

The other 4XX buses there are confusing, have odd patterns/routes and have so many different routes I had to ring TransLink to ask how to get there. Not helpful either as one bus sets down in a different place to the other one so depending on the bus number you catch, it could be in a different place.

Makes me wonder how MPs do their weekend shopping, by car probably!!!

I think the same principle applies there, and to the whole GCL.  There needs to be a GCL route running straight along Frederick St, Toowong (probably through Bywong St & Moorak St), straight along Kessels Rd to Mt Gravatt, straight up Newnham Rd & Creek Rd to Cannon Hill, and also use Trouts Rd or Appleby Rd and then Stafford Rd & South Pine Rd.

Chopping off all those deviations may save 1 hour or so from the route.

Mentioning the airport DFO, the maps in Connecting SEQ seemed to show a new station on the airport line there.

I personally am not a fan of this proposed station, unless the whole viaduct is duplicated.  Increasing the running time on the single track section is a bit of a problem for me.  And who is paying for it?  If it attracts the premium airtrain fare, then no one would use it.

Golliwog

Nothing I have seen RE:Connecting SEQ has said anything about duplicating the Airport line, removing the premium fare, or even anything written down saying they are going to put the station in there. However I would agree unless they remove the premium fare no one will use it, and unless they duplicate the line, once they do remove the premium fare, the line will be overcrowded. Not really due to the shops being added to the line, more from latent demand for airport access. ...just a little off topic there though.

I was more thinking of the stop adding to the section time in the single line.

15 minute frequency is required on the airport line.  Not too bad if you are departing, as these trips are planned and you are expecting that you are going to have to wait anyway, but it's downright annoying when you are arriving to have a 29 minute wait.

It is 15 minutes on the Airport Line for the am peak and pm peaks, other than that it is every half hour.
I think buses would be the way to go, a train station in the future would work as it is simpler to get to and probably faster as well but IMHO that is something the Airtrain must build, and I would suspect that it isn't in their interest to spend money on that.

That said, how slow was this line when I used it recently!
On the way to the airport, train stopped just after Fortitude Valley / Bowen Hills.
On the way back, stopped again, waiting waiting waiting-- it was a while, all the while listening to the "This train runs EXPRESS..." how ironic.
