Ride and Park for Bicycles

I was thinking of this idea as I walked from my workplace to Doomben Station (3.2 km) today.

Eagle Farm and Pinkenba are very poorly serviced by public transport. There's a few buses, but don't service the areas south of KSD very well (e.g. Macarthur Ave, Curtin Ave E & W, Harvey St, Fison Ave E & W, etc).

Now what if we were to have bicycle storage at Doomben Station, where instead of people riding to the station and leaving their bicycles there during the day, we have bicycles stored overnight and people ride away from the station in the daytime. Much of the area is quite flat and easy to cycle around, although cycle paths might be required along KSD. Probably a shared path, because no-one at BCC thought it was a good idea to include bike lanes in the KSD upgrade this far east.

11 km is about the furthest you might need to cycle, but like I said, it's pretty flat. I think the idea has merit.

Council has pledged to roll out electric City Cycle bikes. Doomben station, Portside, Racecourse Road, Hamilton Northshore  Bretts Wharf, and a location in Pinkenba would be ideal for Electric City Cycle recharge stations.

Not sure an electric bike-hire scheme will work for the use case I envisage, where bicycles are ridden to a workplace in the morning, stored there for the day, and then ridden back to Doomben station in the afternoon.
I think the workers would need to provide their own bikes—even if exclusively pedal-powered. QR/TL's involvement would be adequate overnight secure bicycle storage at Doomben station.

Good idea achiruel.  The more active transport is encouraged the better.

The Government and its bureaucracy make sure they are looked after ... time they looked after the wider community as well.

Darra station has a good bicycle cage.  Maybe a larger improved version of this.
