Just had an idea.

Brisbane has the BUZ, but for areas outside the BCC zone, there really isn't a name for buses that run 6am-11.30 pm every 15 minutes off peak, and every 5-10 minutes in peak. Instead we have this horrible HFP name, high frequency priority.

How about MAX: Metro Area Express.
This could be rolled out across the TL network area.

555 could be turned into a MAX, trunk routes on the Gold, Sunshine and Ipswich areas too.

The BUZ brand is well enough identified within Brisbane that they probably should be sticking with it.  Although I find that the definition is too strict: should just be every 15 minutes 6am-11pm or so.

Its for outside the BCC area. BCC own the word BUZ.
IIRC TL cannot use it on another operator's service. Its like a trademark.

But most of the routes in Brisbane should be in that category. The whole point of BUZ is that a route is upgraded to meet the requirements. It was never introduced to say "OK, every route that meets these requirements is now called a BUZ". Relaxing the requirements will dilute the brand.

I wouldn't be against two levels of upgraded frequency service. I just don't want the BUZ name degraded by a few routes with less-than-ideal frequency.

E.g. the 130.  Running this route around at an every 10 minutes frequency in peak makes it harder to increase P133 & P137 frequencies, and also makes it harder to have a run which uses the current 129/130/131 route as far as Beaudesert Rd and the Compton Rd, Gateway Motorway etc.

E.g. the 444.  Running this at every 10 minutes in peak makes it harder to justify a Moggill-UQ direct route in peak.

I've talked about the Cultural Centre routing requirement often enough.

Also, the adherance to the edges of the requirement is creative.  On weekends the first 444 leaves Moggill at 5:50am and then forms the first outbound service also.  So it's not possible to get out of the city before close to 7am on this "BUZ".  It is similar heading inbound in the PM.
