211 per week IIRC.

QuoteAs Melbourne grows, the train network is an increasingly essential part of moving people around every day.

We know that having a clean, safe and punctual train journey is important to you, so that's where we're putting our focus.

We currently transport around 400,000 people every day, keeping them connected to work, school, family, friends as well as Melbourne's major events. Over the next 10 years, the number of people who use the train will double, so we're working hard to build the network to meet the demand.

Having an efficient and responsive timetable that meets the demands of Melbourne's growing population is paramount, and we regularly revise it in partnership with the Government.

There are 38 new X'Trapolis trains arriving as part of the Victorian Transport Plan, some of which have already hit the tracks taking customers.

We will transform the network into a 'metro' style operation so that we can transport more people, more often with less cancellations and less delays.

But this major transformation is not an overnight process. It takes time to do an important job, and do it well.
We are committed to building a 'proud railway for everyone, everyday'.  We invite you to come on the journey with us.

I think this just shows what little effort Translink are making with our rail network at the moment.

Whilst the numbers quoted are a bit of spin (many of the "new" services are just altered services), at least Metro are making an effort to enhance frequency, reliability, and making timetables more homogenous. Another timetable enhancement will also occur later in the year.

Yet here in Brisbane, we were promised new seats on trains that haven't materialised, and are rumoured to eventually be added in the lamest way possible (3 to 6-car sets, thus no new services). In early 2009, QR mentioned new timetables for 2010 which don't look like they will now happen until 2011. Translink have 15mins off-peak timetables in their "network plan", which is now rumoured to be 20mins off-peak, and yet they can't even achieve 20mins frequencies in peak hours on busy lines. It's a very sorry state of affairs in Queensland!
