Looks great!

I'd like to see the icon/text become a link when in one of the disruption statuses, that will take you to a page that shows what the disruptions are on that line/service only.  This would be better than having to go to the home page to see specifics, which shows disruptions across the whole network.

And/Or a "tooltip" style message should pop-up when you mouse-over a line/service with a disruption that shows a summary of the problem(s).  You wouldn't even need to click then.

(Currently no disruptions - so for all I know it could do something like this already - but the message at the bottom suggests otherwise.)

When there is a disruption the green tick changes to the appropriate icon with an active link for the details.  There were some active disruptions this morning and worked fine.

I don't think you will have to wait long for another ..   ;)

Great for the current generation but of little use to the older generation, the computer illiterate and those many without internet access and since it is operated by Translink will in time be of questionable reliability while costing more funds to operate that may well have been better spent on upgrading failing or failed infrastructure to remove some of these delays.

And you think it was a significant cost to put up a simple webpage?

I think it's a great thing to do.  Other public transport information sites do the same (or similar) thing.

Derwan

I agree with STB. This is one of those rare cases where TransLink has actually achieved something that falls into the category of "Simple but effective".

Translink really needs a new website.
"Where else but Queensland?"

#Metro

But it needs to be on the front page.
No announcement, so people will have no idea it is there...

Should look like this: http://www.metrotrains.com.au/
Negative people... have a problem for every solution. Posts are commentary and are not necessarily endorsed by RAIL Back on Track or its members.

It wouldn't be a "simple" website, it would be coded to be a module for their CMS package of choosing as well as their front ending coding for it and the backend which I imagine will tie into other non web based systems so it appears automagically.

I have suggested to TL that go card status should be included, and perhaps and icon for the train, ferry, bus and go card as well to brighten it up a bit.

I have been advised that there will be some upgrades to the service status page on the TransLink website over the next day or so.

QuoteThere will be linking of train (and bus/ferry) routes to up-coming scheduled changes (bus diversions, track work etc) – up until now it's been focused on unscheduled disruptions.

The traditional list of scheduled disruptions will still be available.

Bus disruptions will also be presented by individual route/s or corridor/s, rather than series.

This is an improvement IMHO.

The other suggestion I think worth considering is have a go card status as a separate item as well.    At the moment the go card info is buried.
The go card is integral of course to PT and it would allow the quick recognition of any major issues or pending changes in the same way easily done for bus rail or ferry.

They should also have track your bus and train integrated into Google maps to help with the live status. I guess its in the pipeline?

Would be interesting to view the rail changes, particularly those on the Sunshine Coast/Caboolture and Ipswich/Rosewood lines.
The changes to bus services posted are avaliable for view why not those for rail services.

I saw that new status page, thought the 1 upcoming service change would be a new train service, and was ultimately disappointed to read that it was a fare gate change.  >:(
