Found this link when searching for the draft Connecting SEQ 2031.  http://www.aitpm.org.au/d1/QLD%20SC09%20Presentation.pdf

Some interesting content.  Interested in other thoughts/comments.  I think the modelling is road centric modelling but not surprised.

Last line of the Courier Mail article.......

" The Connecting SEQ 2031 transport plan, which will develop a strategy to manage transport growth, will be released mid-year. "

roll on mid-year ...... ;)

Well at least it shows that the Gov. knows we need to shift everyone towards active and public transport. AND they also seem to know that they can't just force people into it, most will need convincing, although given the recent petrol price increases, I think that there is less work to be done with that now.

My opinion is that funding for PT projects is the problem. A lot of good ideas never see the light of day just because by themselves they are incredibly expensive and would most likely never get fully funded.

Look at the railway slides carefully. There is a new line there that I'm sure many of us will delighted with.

Yes, sorry, there are 4 new lines. One of which hasn't previously been suggested by the government as a rail line.

Redcliffe, Trouts Road, a connection from Trouts road to central going via Ashgrove, and I think there was a line that looks like it was following the alignment of the frieght route through Acacia Ridge. Correct me if I'm wrong?

I think it was more like "Planners wishlist" rather than committed projects...
Can't remember what it looks like now, but did any of TransApex feature?
Negative people... have a problem for every solution. Posts are commentary and are not necessarily endorsed by RAIL Back on Track or its members.

It was a presentation for the Sunchine Coast, so they focused on projects up there. The rail was there just because its part of the whole network and would provide improvments up there. So no Transapex wasn't mentioned.

Can you not read maps?  ;)

Standard gauge corridor ? to Greater Flagstone
Kippa-Ring
Springfield-Ipswich
Trouts Rd (including tunnel into CBD)

I had been tipped off about the latter a few weeks ago. I'm interested in seeing the full document when it is released, and how it changes the rail operations paradigm. If the Trouts Rd Line connected with the Ipswich/Springfield Lines (via the CBD) somehow it could mean that the 2nd cross river rail tunnel corridor could then be a self-contained metro (as the Ipswich/Springfield corridor overload is then taken care of). However, I think we should wait and see the full document with clearer plans and timeframes before jumping to any great debate or conclusions.

Yes, there are some interesting developments for rail flagged in this document by the looks of things. Hopefully it will be released soon.

Cross River Rail is a major catalyst for change.
