Route 299 (Brisbane City to Rochedale via Brisbane Technology Park) - effective 12 April 2010

TransLink is introducing a new bus route to service Brisbane Technology Park, QEII Hospital and Griffith University (Nathan Campus) from Monday 12 April, 2010.

Route 299 (Brisbane City to Rochedale via Brisbane Technology Park) will run six times a day during the Monday to Friday peak:
Departs
Brisbane City (stop 85)    7.21am
7.51am
8.21am
Redeemer Lutheran College    3.19pm
4.19pm
4.49pm

It will run outbound from Brisbane City in the mornings and inbound in the afternoons servicing the following locations:

    * Elizabeth Street and Albert Street (stop 85)
    * Creek St and Queen Street (stop 149)
    * Ann Street and Creek Street (stop 7, Central Station)
    * Ann Street and Roma Street (stop 11, City Hall)
    * William Street and Margaret Street (stop 107)
    * Buranda busway station
    * Greenslopes busway station
    * Holland Park West busway station
    * Griffith University busway station
    * Griffith University, Nathan Campus
    * QEII Hospital (Troughton Road)
    * McKechnie Drive, Brisbane Technology Park
    * Eight Mile Plains busway station
    * Rochdale High School, Rochedale
    * Redeemer Lutheran College, Rochedale.

Is this the only route to leave the busway and rejoin it?

Or does it rejoin the Busway?  Or could it perhaps simply stop outside the Busway station along the main road?  Note that there isn't a platform number given.

If it does indeed, it'd be a first I guess.  Unless you count all the Cultural Centre routes that terminate there prior to the INB (King George Square/Roma Street) section opened up.

Yes. After reviewing Google Earth I see there isn't really a way to get on the busway heading South at Eight Mile Plains and pass through the station there. Also I had assumed that the bus would need to travel on the motorway for a bit but this isn't the case.

So I agree the 299 will most likely stop on the main road and not at the platform.

FYI, I'll be jumping on the first Route 299 on Monday morning. I've got to get to uni to submit some work anyway, so it'll be on my way.  Will see how it goes.
