North Coast line delays today due to fire

At least they seem to be trying to lay on alternative transport and buses as best they can.  Hopefully with this early annoucnement, it will give people enough time to work the extra  time into their travel plans. 

The damage occurred about 2.15am when a fire broke out in the locomotive of a freight train near Settlement Road at Narangba, the Department of Community Safety said.

It took 10 fire fighters to put out the blaze.

Power in the area had to be isolated and the fire caused damage to overhead lines between Burpengary and Narangba, forcing Queensland Rail to cancel services in the area.

Seems the second locomotive, a 2800 class caught fire and did a lot of damage to around 300 metres or so of overhead.
