It would be a start to close Adelaide street Brisbane from George to Edward to private cars and taxis and widen the footpath + separated bike lanes as well as only run eco friendly busses along the street to make it more pedestrian friendly.

Reclaiming the streets for pedestrians and public transport has been occurring in European cities for many years. Sadly Australia is somewhat behind in discouraging car use in CBD areas.
