Part of the spin for the fare increases is promises for 301,000 more weekly seats on public transport

Quote301 000 new seats

Every cent collected from the fare changes will be pumped back into better public transport services.
Over the next year, this equates to 301 000 new public transport seats every single week.

We will deliver:

• 201 000 seats on buses
• 83 400 seats on trains
• 17 000 seats on ferries.

Ok, where would you place the extra 35 six car trains  (70 3 car) services this equates to daily?

Half baked projects, have long term consequences ...

well i would rather my money go to 15 off peak but seeing as it wont a train between the 7:00 and the 7:13 bowen hills and one between the 7:56 and 8:13 bowen hills serivce (cleveland line)

also in the afternoon a train between the 4:04 and 4:28 cleveland trains.

Whilst there are quite a few gaps that need to be filled, I think that rather than slotting in extra services into to already messy timetables, the timetables need a complete re-write so as to ensure:-
- Peak services at least every 15mins(ish) for ALL stations on busy lines (Caboolture, Ipswich, Ferny Grove, Cleveland, Ferny Grove, Gold Coast) for services arriving at Central between 7am and 9:30am and departing Central between 4pm and 6:30pm - current 20min+ peak gaps are totally unacceptable!
- More homogenous peak service patterns
- Off-peak services at least every 30 mins at all times on most lines - i.e eliminate late night/Sunday am hour gaps, and >30min off-peak gaps such as the well known late afternoon gap on the Shorncliffe Line

I would like to see 15min off-peak, but sadly I don't think this is within the scope of the 35-70 extra services.

Evening peak service to Enoggera* 2007 - 7tph
Evening peak service to Enoggera* 2010 - 4tph
* departures from Central between 16:30 and 17:30.

Nah to much effort.....Jokes but that must be what the timetablers say.
A new cooridinated effiecient timetable is a must. When was the last complete rewrite? 1979?

Whilst notvwithin the 35 services instrugglebto see why the 15 min off peak can not be achieved.  The units exist for peak services and large numbers can not be required to be maintained every day.  The short fall is crews and a schedule.  These cost much less than units. It is just political will.  If there is a shortfall in units - How many are we short?
