Limited replacement bus services will run on weekdays in the am and pm peak periods, between the CBD locations of Riverside and North Quay, to and from Mowbray Park, Hawthorn and Bulimba CityCat terminals.

Further information about replacement bus service timetables will be available at CityCat terminals. At this stage, the services have been cancelled indefinately. Further assessment of whether to continue each service will be made daily until the all clear is given to resume normal services.

I was disappointed to find the QUT City Cat wharf locked up tonight. The water is so high the ramp to the floating section was going uphill!

BRISBANE'S iconic CityCats have been cancelled indefinitely because of debris washed into the river after Wednesday's deluge.
Brisbane City Council announced this morning the Citycats and ferries would be ``cancelled until further notice'' to ensure passengers were not injured if the boats collided with large pieces of debris.

"The cancellation of the CityCat and ferry services is essential to uphold the safety of passengers and operational staff,'' a statement said.

Daily testing on the condition of the river will be untaken by Council employees, before the boats will be allow back into service.

A limited number of replacement bus services will run during the morning and afternoon peak times between the CBD and Riverside and North Quay.

They will also run return routes between Mowbray Park, Hawthorne and Bulimba CityCat terminals.

Earlier today, motorists on the Ipswich Motorway were confronted with extremely thick fog and potholes on their way to work.

QuoteFerry services resume storm

BRISBANE'S daytime CityCat and CityFerry services have been restored after last week's storms made it too dangerous to operate in the Brisbane river.

TransLink advised all Brisbane River CityCat and CityFerry services would resume operations at restricted levels until further notice.

The services will not operate on their timetable due to speed restrictions for safety reasons.

However, the ferries and CityCats will not operate at night, with the last upstream CityCat service to depart Apollo Road at 3.45pm and Riverside at 4.17pm.

CityFerry services will also cease operations at 5pm.

Debris from flooding to the west of Brisbane last week caused a potential safety hazard for the vessels.

A 30,000 litre tank, along with a number of large logs, were sighted in the river

At least part of that CM article has been recycled from last time the CityCats were cancelled due to high rainfall. There was the same report of a 30,000L tank.

It wouldn't surprise me if they have copy-pasted the entire article.

Brisbane's CityCats and CityFerries will return to the river today after several days in the docks in the wake of last week's wet and wild weather.

All ferry services were cancelled following last week's flooding, which washed large, hazardous debris into the Brisbane river.

Translink has advised commuters CityCat and CityFerry services will resume today but will operate at reduced speeds.
