Will Downer be awarded the contract? And will these additional rollingstock be based on the design of the rectified NGR's? Based on the length of the NGR procurement process and the proposed CRR completion date of 2024, the procurement process for these additional rollingstock should have begun yesterday.

I understand that the State is looking at what will required in terms of additional rollingstock.

The Government has said that all future trains will be built in Queensland.   Now if Downer at Maryborough are doing 8 NGR rectification at a time through to 2024, how does this leave them for new builds?  Not sure what their capacity is. Bombardier builds trains and trams in Victoria.  Anything is possible I guess ...

Based on the projected service frequencies when CRR comes into play, BrizCommuter has worked out that 42 additional 6 car trains will be needed.  Considering that fleet availability is never 100%  we are suggesting they go for 50.
Half baked projects, have long term consequences ...
