ALL trains on the busy Ipswich line have been suspended after a truck hit boomgates at a railway crossing at Wacol, in Brisbane's south-west.
A TransLink spokesman said the accident happened about 8.35am on Station Road, Wacol, and trains had been suspended while the damage was assessed.

The spokesman said police and electricians were on scene, and it was hoped services would return to normaly by about 9.30am.

A Brisbane Traffic Management Centre spokesman said the truck hit the boomgates and all traffic was stopped in both directions.

But he said it was not expected to have a signficant impact on morning commuter traffic.

It is unclear what caused the accident or if there were any injuries.

Meanwhile, a truck is lodged under the Dutton Park railway bridge on Annerley Road. One lane of traffic is blocked.

Yesterday afternoon (24/2) a boom gate was knocked off at Mooloolah train station.  It is the second time I have seen this happen at this level crossing this year.

I hope all those people who claim collisions at level crossings would not occur if the crossing had boom gates read this. When will this madness end ??

Witnessed today, More Madness..

I was approching the level crossing on Barrick Road at Cannon Hill Station. The lights were flashing and a motorist coming in the opposite direction drove straight through. As I was thinking what an idiot he was, a second car about 75 meters behind the first also went straight through as the boom gates commenced to lower. UNBELEIVABLE !!

As the 2 cars passed me, I could not help but notice that the drivers were wearing the same safety clothes similar to what QR trackworkers wear, but they were not QR issue so I guess they must work in a nearby factory.. The driver of EMU 35 must have had some choice words for them !!

Today a boom gate was knocked out at Mooloolah, 3rd time this year.  When we went throught there about 6pm today on the Railbus, the boom was on the ground off to the side.  Each time it has been the same boom.
