Wait for less crowded trains .... ????

The Brisbane mX has a lead story today (July 27) reporting that at recent estimates hearings the Transport Minister Mr Lucas in response to a question by the Opposition said that commuters can wait for the next train if the one they are interested in catching is congested.

Problem is though what if the next train is cancelled?  Clearly we need to continue momentum towards higher frequency.

The Hansard transcripts are  here.
12 July seems to be the day that QR matters were discussed, but I cannot find the questions that mX are highlighting.

If the story is as stated by mX, this is very concerning.  Folks cannot simply wait for empty trains to come along, they have commitments and appointments.  We will continue to press for more frequent services.

Half baked projects, have long term consequences ...

Its all well and good for politicans to tell us to catch the next train if our regular one is too congested, they're being driven around on tax payer money... oh, don't get me wrong, not that i think chauffeuring pollies is a waste of tax payer money... no, no, never that... just that, well, when was the last time you ever saw a polly on the train?

During peak hour and when special events are being held EVERY TRAIN IS CONGESTED... sure, i'd love to wait for the 9:56pm train when commuter traffic has died down so i don't have to travel with my face in some old guys arm pit... but my dentist appoint was at 630!

Maybe they were igonorant to problem before, but hey NOW THEY KNOW. Fix it up! We need more trains! Maybe politicians could start trainning to and from work and we could spend the money on more trains.
